We carry Stock Exchange bone broth at the farm. Chicken, beef or turkey (475 ml container) is available. Proud to share that Stock Exchange uses beef bones from Vibrant Farms to make their nutrient dense broths and occasionally chicken & turkey carcasses as available.
Bone broth is not stock - it is a delicious and nutritious concentrate consumed as a source of nourishment across cultures for centuries, and continuing to hold a predominant role in traditional and professional kitchens around the world. Bone broth is a staple due to its unsurpassed flavour and nutritional value.
STOCK EXCHANGE strives to ensure that every ingredient that goes into their stockpot is of the highest quality available from local sources in Southwestern Ontario. They are committed to sustainable practices - following the food chain through to its final stages and paying local small-scale farmers fair compensation.
The bone broth is made in small batches, honouring traditional methods. Each batch is slow-simmered for 24 hours in Savarin Springs Inc. filtered water, lemons or apple cider vinegar and seasoned with simple vegetables and herbs. The broth is frozen as 485mL in a plastic tamper-proof container, No. 5 PP, made in Canada, reusable; dishwasher and microwave safe, and 100% recyclable.
The food we eat is vitally connected to our health and the environment. Stock Exchange strives to provide a premium product, using minimal resources and generating zero waste. All ingredients are certified or uncertified ORGANIC and locally sourced in Southwestern Ontario
How to enjoy bone broth: You can just gently heat bone broth and and sip it from a mug as is, or use it as a base for soups, stews, chilis and an alternative cooking liquid for rice, grains and pasta. It is made without added salt, so you can season to taste.
Since bone broth is so concentrated you may wish to dilute with water:
- for drinking, we recommend doubling, and turning the half litre into 1L (approx. 4 sipping mugs)
- for cooking, we suggest stretching to a maximum of 2L
To make smaller portions, simply defrost a container in the fridge (could take a day or two) or run the frozen plastic tub under warm water, drop the frozen puck in a small pot and gently warm it up. Then portion off into ice cube trays and re-freeze. Once defrosted, it will last in the fridge for a good week+
Stock Exchange bone broth is slow food made convenient for people who care about what they eat and what they feed their families. This is mindful nourishment.
