We at Vibrant Farms believe that the nutrition content of meat is directly related to an animal's diet which is why we raise our pastured birds organically.
WHY CHOOSE PASTURE-RAISED?
Omega-3 fatty acids are formed in green leaves/grasses so the turkeys are storing ‘healthy fats’ in their meat as they freely run around on the pasture eating grass (& bugs & worms that they forage). When WE eat a diet rich in omega-3 fats, it supports healthy brain & heart function, and reduces inflammation in the body. These health benefits can help to prevent chronic illnesses. As well, since the birds have a diverse diet, it helps to create a wonderful flavour that sets it apart from conventional birds.
HOW ARE THEY RAISED?
We keep the baby turkey’s safe & warm inside the barn under heat lamps when they first arrive at the farm. As they grow, we are able to move them outside to freely roam on the certified organic pasture.
The birds also have access to eat organic non-GMO hand-mixed feed free of antibiotics & hormones. Our turkeys are NEVER fed corn which is quite rare. Corn is a fattier grain - by removing it from the birds diet, we can raise the birds slower which means more humanely. Always working with an animal nutritionist, we ensure each bird receives just the right mix of grains for their diet to ensure a healthy, happy bird.

As a small farm, we only raise a limited number of turkeys each summer out on pasture so be sure to reserve your bird today. They will be fresh flash frozen at the provincially inspected processor to seal in the juices & maintain quality. Ready in mid-September in plenty of time for Thanksgiving weekend.
